Class Project

I will be working on this project with Susie Dandrea. We have decided to look at various buildings on the Eastern Washington University campus as well as the Cheney area. These are the sites we will be working on:

  • The football stadium (currently Roos Field)
  • The one-room schoolhouse on campus
  • The old waterworks building near the PUB
  • The current Sig Ep building
  • Hargreaves Hall
  • The Pence Union Building (PUB)
  • Willow Springs Hotel
  • Dryden Hall
  • Huston Hall
  • Senior Hall
In order to fully research these places we will utilize the archives in EWU's library as well as other historical resources.

    Tom and Susie:

    Good start, but a little thin on the bibliography side. What are the main books and articles for the history of EWU and of Cheney? Get yourselves over to JFK Special Collections and you will find a lot of information.

    I like most of the sites very much, though maybe there are a couple too many dorms? Also is the Sig Ep building the old Philena (sp?) apartment building, across the street from the EWU pillars?
